45th ESTORIL INTERNATIONAL MASTER CLASSES  

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL  - 2008  

Course activities for full participants:

* Individual singing technique lessons

* Sing in Master Classes with the two celebrity Guest Professors

* Language coaching sessions

* Coaching lessons with specialist pianists and accompanists

* Instruction in the art of recitative and ensemble singing

* A solo Lieder Recital

* Advice on individual repertoire (Opera, Lieder, Oratorio)

* Moral and professional support and advice to strengthen and consolidate the positive aspects of a young singer's talent

* Final concert and “Award for excellence” to the most outstanding participant (Recitals in London and Estoril Festival 2009)

Requirements:  

- singers should be aged between 20 and 32 years

- a good working knowledge of English is desirable 

Procedure:  

Applications must reach ESTORIL MUSIC WEEKS by , 31 MARCH  2008 , accompanied by:

- a detailed copy of résumé

- a recent photograph

- a copy of  passport, identity card or birth certificate as proof of age

- a recent Tape/CD/Minidisc recording or the link to their Youtube broadcast containing at least two contrasting works  (e.g. Opera Aria, Lieder, Recital,...) 

Selection & Auditions:  

- after a pre-selection, which will be based on the quality and contents of the applications received, a certain number of  candidates may be called for audition in April 2008.

For the audition, these candidates will be required to present on opera aria and one Lieder/Melody, in a language other than the operatic aria, along with a third work of the candidate's own choice 

Fees and Conditions:  

The all-in fee of € 1.600 (Euros*) includes all lessons, coaching sessions, Master Classes with the Visiting Professors, and full board (twin bedded room with shower at the Tourism High School, and all meals, breakfast, lunch and evening meal)  

(*) Selected applicants are required to pay a deposit of 50 % of the required total fee on signing the placement acceptance form. The balance must be paid 6 weeks before the commencement of the course otherwise the offer of a place will be declared null and void. Under no circumstances are any paid fees refundable.
